Method and limits
Each generator reads its controls differently. The notes below show what is filtered, what is merely ranked, and what still needs a human decision.
Parent-name blend does not glue two names together. It searches the real-name index for candidates that echo both inputs. The scorer compares shared letter pairs, openings and endings, overlapping letters, and estimated syllable distance. Related names and recorded variations in curated profiles add a stronger connection when available.
A candidate needs meaningful signal from both parent names before it can appear. The parent names themselves are excluded, and an optional country filter can limit the result to names present in that official dataset. Popularity is only a light tie-breaker so a famous name cannot overpower a much better sound match.
Look for balance. A result that copies half of one name and only one common letter from the other is technically related but emotionally lopsided. Say the three finalists after each parent name and ask whether the connection is audible without an explanation.
The strongest result is often not the highest score. Family pronunciation, surname rhythm, and the meaning carried by each parent name are outside the numeric model. Use the generated reason to understand the match, then make the human decision separately.
Written letter pairs are only a rough sound model. They do not fully capture stress, silent letters, accents, or pronunciation differences between languages.
The tool returns recorded names from the index. It will not invent a literal mashup, and it may return nothing when both inputs are short or phonetically distant.
A similar sound does not establish that names share an origin or meaning. Open the profiles and source material before treating a sound connection as a historical one.
